Online Psychotherapy

INTERNATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY CENTER is a bilingual psychotherapy center in English and Spanish, based in Madrid, Spain, dedicated to serving people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Our expertise is supported by over 20 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and international families, expatriates, embassy staff, employees of multinational companies, and students in international programs.

What are the benefits?

Convenience: You no longer need to worry about traveling to my office, finding parking, waiting, or encountering others in the waiting room. This saves time—and likely energy and money. Scheduling appointments is easier, and you can do it from home, your office, or elsewhere. This is especially convenient for people with mobility difficulties or limited access to an office.

Effectiveness: Several studies have confirmed that Online Psychotherapy is as effective as in-person sessions for certain issues, particularly agoraphobia, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, and depression. In cases where traveling to an office is difficult, Online Psychotherapy makes treatment possible.

Privacy: At home or in your office, you won’t run into neighbors, acquaintances, or others who you don’t want to know you’re in therapy.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What do Online Services involve?

Online Services consist essentially of conducting all or part of the sessions using the tools provided by modern technology and the internet. Using the same methodology as in-person sessions, Online sessions are conducted via video conferencing, using a computer, tablet, or mobile device equipped with a camera and internet connection.

Is Online Psychotherapy safe and confidential?

There are now a number of applications (for example, Zoom) that allow video conferencing in a secure and fully confidential manner. Nevertheless, I always recommend finding a quiet, distraction-free space in which to conduct the session.

Is it as effective as traditional psychotherapy?

Although ten years ago I never imagined conducting a session via video conference, today approximately 30% of my sessions are held this way. While technology has improved dramatically in recent years, providing high-quality video conferencing, I have personally learned to feel comfortable and make the most of it. Furthermore, multiple studies have shown that it is a valid, innovative, and accessible option for providing high-quality services.
